New Pond Construction
There’s no one size fits all solution when it comes to pond construction and there are a number of ways to do it, but putting the right planning into your pond construction is key.
More often than not, pond construction begins with excavating a hole to the planned shape and placing down some kind of liner to keep the water in.
Various shapes and sizes of ponds can be made from the following materials:
- Butyl Pond Liner
- Preformed Pond Liner
- Concrete Pond Liner
- Clay Pond Liner
- Rubber Pond Liner
- Fibreglass Pond Liner
- Plastic Pond Liner
- Pre-moulded Pond Liner
If you’re having fish and other aquatic life and/ or pond plants then it’s important to have a large enough space in order to keep the water properly aerated. It’s recommended that this should cover a minimum area of 38 sq ft.
When it comes to the depth of the water, we recommend no less than 30 inches depth, in order to get the very best from your pond.
