Pond Leaks - What Can You Do?
It’s never a nice experience to find that your pond is leaking. If you’ve discovered that the water has dropped below the usual level, doubtless you will be worried about the effect it will have on your fish and other pond life and want to get it repaired as soon as possible.
Firstly - it’s important to check if the pond is actually leaking - if the level has dropped slightly, this could be for other reasons, so carrying out a static leak test could save you money.
Pond Leak Testing
To carry out a pond leak test, simply switch off any pumps and filtration equipment, fill the pond to its expected level, mark the water line with something very visible and allow the pond to stand for 72 hours. Do not fill the pond or feed your fish in this time and pay close attention to the weather, as rainfall will affect your test.
Once you’ve established that there is a pond leak, we can help.
